Hello There!
I'm Daniela Galavíz (She/Her) @danspiral

Bachelor in Performing Arts
Master in Educational Technology
Arts Education and Community Engagement Graduate Certificate
Daniela Galaviz is a multidisciplinary, creative, performer, facilitator, and promoter of the arts.

Originally from Mexico (Cancún and Querétaro), she began her artistic career by enrolling in the arts-focused high school CEDART “Ignacio Mariano de las Casas” an educational center part of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature of Mexico (INBAL). This place undoubtedly marked her way of seeing the world and working with the arts. When she finished, she continued her studies at the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), pursuing a degree in Performing Arts. Along with her studies, another important experience that defined her as an artist was volunteering as a Hospital Clown for the non profit organization "Risaterapia", in which she was active for 4 years.

After graduating from university, she dedicated herself to doing theater with the non-profit / theatre company "La Otra Banda" (Now La Otra Bandita) located in the Tepetate neighborhood, in Querétaro, Mexico where she worked creating drama performances for theatre and for the street.

She was co-creator and administrator of the Teatropolis cultural space (2017-2020) in the historic center of the city of Querétaro.
At the same time, she worked as a teacher in different educational institutions teaching Visual Arts and Drama to young people.
It was through this experience that her interest in facilitating educational and community spaces was born. This led her to study a Master's Degree in Educational Technology at ITESM and later a postgraduate degree in Arts Education and Community Engagement at Centennial College located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

She currently resides and works in the city of Toronto, coordinating and facilitating community art workshops for newcomers and refugees. She is passionate about the power that the arts have and the joy of creating in our personal day to day lives and what creating with other people does to our human relationships. She believes that art is for everyone to enjoy fully, not just for professional artists.
